Page Ranking from DCGraphics View

February 2nd, 2010

For this discussion I research more on the page rank. The PR for certain websites can help or hinder the way your website is ranked in Google. So with that said, It would be great for my company because they all have a section for marketing, but a directory that is focus on my industry would be better. I would also pick some directories that have a higher PR, some that I would have to pay for and directories that focus specifically on design and marketing firms. For example:

A. Yahoo: PR 8, cost: 299.00. It would be worth to pay Yahoo because it is one of the world’s largest directories compared to Google. Also the majority of DCGraphics competitors are already on this directory also.

B. Best of the Web: PR: 7 79.00. For this directory I would choose this one because it has a great following of users. It is also a service for webmasters, site owners, and marketing organizations.

C. Design Directory: PR6 Free. This directory is a web directory of design resources that focus on Designers, design companies, design studios, portfolios and consultancies

D. Web Design Stuff: PR 5 Free.

Ocoee Middle School

February 2nd, 2010

This is such a great idea for the Ocoee Middle School to create alternative learning for their kids. The public schools all across the U.S. need to focus on how to create a new learning environment for these kids, because the old teaching is defiantly not working. The activities shows the Ocoee Middle notice that you have to create other ways for kids to learn. I bet that all those kids will remember the lyrics of that song for years to come.

Web 2.0 and Tiger Woods

December 10th, 2009

Tiger WoodsI found a great article about the recent events dealing with Tiger Woods. But before I go into talking about this over drawn out situation, I think having a strategy for PR is helpful to know. You must know the steps that you need to take just in case of either an angry consumer, fan or recent employee wants to bad mouth your brand. Now your brand could be a person or a company that is has a suifficate amount of followers and that has some kind of impression on its industry.

In the case of Tiger Wood, something is diffidently wrong with the handling of his brand. With the scandal of his wife vandalizing his car and himself and the recent excessive lovers he has been with in the past while been married. But I think that is besides the point, what is this situation going to do with future business that Tiger associates his name to, such as Nike and his own Tiger Woods Foundation?

According to http://prdisasters.com/, whoever is advising Tiger is not doing a great job. Some of the suggestions are to use is the four R’s of crisis management: Regret, Responsibility, Remedial action and Real. These four steps are a great way to help address the situation for any company or personal brand. You must not wait for other negative things to arise. Tiger PR should have had him do a TV appearance to apologize as soon as they could, before the social and media 2.0 starts spreading like wildfire.

It seems that in the past couple a years there has been a lot of apologies with top executives and celebrities. I think that best suggestion is the so call, Face the Music and own up to your faults and to be sincere.
