Consumer Created Branding

Friday, July 29th, 2011

DCGraphics is committed to building businesses.  No building can survive without a foundation.  With that being said, knowing consumer behavior adds to a healthy business foundation.  Now, consumers want a relationship with their brands.  Acting on this will give your business the competitive edge it needs.  Take an outside-in approach by paying close attention and listening to customers.  Idea generation seems to be a customer favorite.  During each stage of the product life cycle, an opportunity should be created for customers to build a community and demonstrate brand loyalty.  For instance, it is important for some consumers to be apart of a solution based community.  Companies like Dell, Apple, and Intuit understand this and have capitalized on this.  Their customers can utilize company communities by asking questions and quickly getting answers.  To deepen the level of customer support, Facebook, Twitter, and other social networks can be exploited.

“Call me on Facebook”

Wednesday, July 27th, 2011

This is what Facebook wants the world to say.   DCGraphics applauds Facebook for keeping innovation apart of its vision.  One of the expected Social Media trends for 2012 is using social networking as a form of customer service.  So, the new features are sure to add the extra pizzazz to the B2B and B2C interaction.  The new features enhance conversation by allowing calls and group chat right on the facebook screen.  For calling, or video chatting, there will be a clickable image at the top of the chat window.  Group chat is available now by clicking the wheel on the top right of the chat window.  Facebook is evolving, and DCGRaphics is glad to be apart of the evolution.

Facebook’s New Privacy Settings: Do You Feel Safe?

Thursday, June 3rd, 2010

After the brewing controversy over releasing user info to third party companies, Facebook has FINALLY upgraded their privacy settings. The new settings are supposed to make it easy for one to control who sees certain elements of their profile and they will prevent user info from being leaked. Some of the changes are great while others are a tad shady. We now have the option of controlling weather or not our profiles are indexed by public search engines (i.e. google, bing, etc.) . Users also now have to enter their password when changing privacy settings. This change is a little iffy. I just changed some of my settings and no password was required. I guess they’re still working out the kinks on that one. Also, Facebook is giving users the ultimate control of who sees what on their profile. Got pictures of you having too much fun at the bar? Now you can control who sees your fun times at Thirsty Thursdays. You can actually single out people so that they don’t see certain things. This applies to statuses, notes, and anything else you can think of. The age of people loosing their jobs over Facebook has now ENDED!

Finally, the worst change of them all: Facebook is making it virtually impossible to controls weather or not we want others to see our profile pictures, fan pages, friends list, and a plethora of other things. This doesn’t sit well with many people seeing as though this is one of the main this that we should be able to control.

Now that it’s all said and done, are you happy with the new changes over on the Book of Faces? Comment below.
