What We’ve Been Waiting For… iPhone 4

Wednesday, June 9th, 2010

Drumroll please…………………………………There’s a new iPhone out and it’s awesome!!

Okay now that I’ve let that out, lets talk about this greatness that has been put out. Apple has delivered everything we have asked for. The iPhone 4 is a total upgrade from the previous model not only is its features but in its design. Instead of the rounded back of the latest models, the newer version is more flat and square-like. (Which unintentionally makes  it resemble some of the newer Android phones on the market.)  Also, the phone is equipped with a stainless steel band that houses all controls (i.e. volume, headphones, sleep button, etc.). The band gives the newest model an “edgier” feel while making controlling the iPhone more convenient. iPhone 4 also boasts a sharper display, a more scratch resistant screen, and a newer processor that helps extend battery life.

Now on to the features. The iPhone 4 not only has one camera but two! One lens is on the back as usual and the other is conveniently placed in front. Finally video calling has come to the iPhone. (Now that Skype app is actually useful.) In addition, with multitasking you can now run up to 4 apps at one time without slowing down the phone. Other main features are the HD video recording and editing and the 5-megapixel camera with LED flash.

All in all, the newest addition to the iPhone family is a great one. Apple has not disappointed us and I’m sure I’ll be hearing more great reviews…

iPad: Is it worth it?

Tuesday, June 1st, 2010

Since the release of  Apple’s iPad last month, the tech world has been buzzing. Many people wonder if this new gadget is worth buying.

So lets go over specifics, the iPad is a touch screen tablet that allows one to do pretty much do anything (i.e. surf the internet, watch movies, check email etc) .  But to be totally honest, I would never buy this! Well, let me rephrase, I wouldn’t buy it now. Why? It’s pretty simple, anyone in their right mind knows that you shouldn’t buy anything that’s labeled “first generation.” You’ll be setting yourself up for a lot of glitches and you’ll realize that the 2.0 version couldn’t come out fast enough.

But that’s besides the point, the main reason why I would probably never buy the iPad is because I could just go out and buy a computer for the same amount of money. For 800 bucks I could buy a brand new computer with most of the same features and feel a lot better about my purchase in the long run. As far as the design world is concerned, HP already had a touch screen computer under its belt. So I guess Apple is just catching up… ;)

What do you think?  Is it worth it?
