This is what Facebook wants the world to say. DCGraphics applauds Facebook for keeping innovation apart of its vision. One of the expected Social Media trends for 2012 is using social networking as a form of customer service. So, the new features are sure to add the extra pizzazz to the B2B and B2C interaction. The new features enhance conversation by allowing calls and group chat right on the facebook screen. For calling, or video chatting, there will be a clickable image at the top of the chat window. Group chat is available now by clicking the wheel on the top right of the chat window. Facebook is evolving, and DCGRaphics is glad to be apart of the evolution.

DCGraphics is expecting to garner substantial exposure during Haute.lanta Fashion Week. For over two years, we have been providing web design and development services to Haute.lanta Fashion Week.
The Haute.lanta Fashion Week website was originally designed by its CEO, Layla K., but she called on us to develop and maintain it. We managed and structured the large amount of image and video content that the site needed, while staying true to Layla K.’s original design template. The website’s features include casting information for models, online ticket sales, blogs, and tracking tools, all of which were custom-developed. It was featured in David E. Carter’s Big Book of Layouts, a highly regarded reference for graphic designers.
Haute.lanta Fashion Week, which is in its fourth year, runs from September 15-19, and is considered the Official Fashion Week of the city of Atlanta. This year’s event will feature runway shows, complimentary cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, trunk shows, celebrity gifting suites, live mannequin and accessory exhibits, pop-up “beautique” lounges, premium live entertainment, and celebrity appearances.
DCGraphics is proud to announce its newest client, celebrity hair stylist Derek J. Derek J will retain DCGraphics’ web design services for his personal website and the website for his salon, The J Spot, which just opened its newest location in Atlanta’s Buckhead neighborhood. Derek J’s new website will feature personal communication from Derek J via a blog, newsletter and Twitter and Facebook integration. Users will be able to interact with one another and Derek J through a question-and-answer feature and comment section, and keep up with his and The J Spot’s events with the featured event page. The J Spot and Derek J’s personal website will also feature interactive video and photo galleries that showcase their work.
“We’re very excited about creating a dynamic online presence for Derek J and The J Spot. The creative opportunities are endless,” says Dionna Collins, Founder and President of DCGraphics. “Derek J and The J Spot serve many of Atlanta’s most high-profile clients, and we’re confident that we’ll be able to design websites that reflect that level of prestige and develop his brand as it continues its impressive growth.”
Derek J is one of Atlanta’s most well-known hair stylists, whose clientele includes Nicole Ari-Parker, Natalie Cole, Terri Vaughn and Keisha Knight-Pulliam. He is the Winner of the 2007 Bronner Brothers Hair Battle. He has appeared on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” on Bravo, BET’s “Tears and Shears,” and will be judging “Hair Battle Royale” on Oxygen on August 10, 2010.
Stay tuned for more information about our exciting new relationship with Derek J, and our partnership with easyboyweb, who’ll be working with us on this, and many more projects.
In the past 5 years social networking sites have been on the rise. The main users are teenagers. With sites like Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter, its not very hard to tell that teenagers have made a very big impact on social media. With that being said, I’m going to count down the top five social networking sites teens use.
No. 5: Tumblr
Tumblr is a blogging site that allows users to post text, images, video, links, quotes, and audio to their “tumblelog.” Like the other social networking site Twitter, Tumblr users can follow one another and see posts on their dashboard. Users can also “like” or “reblog” posts from other blogs on the site. Since its start in 2007 Tumblr has acquired more than 3 million users and is quickly on its way to becoming one of the elite social networking sites of our time.
Formspring, launched in late 2009, is a question and answer site. A user page is created and questions can be asked, with the answers being public. The site can also be connected to Facebook and Twitter. Users can opt either to allow or deny anonymous questions, the default being to allow them. Because of this, the service is open to abuse, and has received some backlash in the media during the last couple of months. All in all, teens continue to use this site with caution as it continues to grow.
Although MySpace is the second largest social media site in the world, it is number three on my list because of its decline in popularity. Back in 2006 MySpace was all the rage. EVERYONE had a MySpace but then Facebook blew up. Suddenly spending hours revamping your page and checking for new requests every five minutes didn’t seem as important anymore. MySpace still tries to attract users with all the usual gimmicks and whatnot but you can’t help when something just isn’t as popular as it used to be.
Out of all the sites featured, I think Twitter is the site that has grown the fastest. Of course when you have people like the Kardashians, Oprah, and even good ole Barack Obama it’s really hard not to become popular. Twitter ranks number two because like I stated before it’s growing. It’s gradually becoming cool. Teens are learning that most college students communicate through Twitter. Which makes it attractive to graduating seniors and upcoming seniors. I’d say in the next 2 years Twitter will be larger than life.
Despite all the recent setbacks and issues with Facebook about privacy and whatnot, it’s still holds the number one spot in my eyes. All the layout changes and privacy affairs couldn’t keep everyone away from Facebook. It’s addicting. It’s the only place where talking to a wall is okay. For many teens Facebook is their life. People fight, makeup, breakup, and do everything else under the sun on Facebook. Which is why it is number one.
We are so happy that this project will be in beta form on March 1. Dating Fantasy give the dating community the opportunity to express themselves through a variety of ways unlike other dating mediums. With the click of a mouse, members can instantly browse through photos and profiles of potential matches in their area.
However, what makes DFN so unique is that once you find that perfect profile you’ve been searching for, you can send your match an invitation to formally meet you at one of our locally sponsored events. Conversely, if you haven’t had the opportunity to connect with someone on DFN you can still meet a local single at one of our speed dating or dinner date functions.
Everyone will be able to sign up for FREE to learn more about the company, meet new people and be apart of their annual trips. So stay tuned.
